Wood Island Lighthouse

Wood Island is a 35-acre uninhabited island sitting at the mouth of the Saco River just off the coast of Biddeford, Maine. The other day we walked out to the point (on land owned by the Audubon society) just across from the island. The waves were left over from Hurricane Florence. This one looks to be almost 10 feet high, most were smaller 4 to 8 feet but out on the shoals we saw some huge swells and breakers. Two days earlier we kayaked around the island and even walked around on it for a wile. The waves were only one to three feet that day but that's a lot when your in a kayak.
